Instructional TV (ITV) Courses

RAVEN (Regional Audio/Video Education Network), courses are available Interactive Television (ITV).

Mayland has specially designed state-of-the-art two way interactive television classrooms on its Main Campus in Spruce Pine, its Yancey Learning Center in Burnsville and its Avery Learning Center in Newland [map].

The three Mayland Interactive Television classrooms are named for Samuel L. Phillips, an entrepreneur who supports Mayland’s distance education initiatives.

Cameras and microphones in multiple locations allow instant communication between the participants. Mayland's ITV classes can be joined electronically with classes from other colleges and universities.

Our ITV classes are offered over the North Carolina Information Highway (NCIH). More information about the NCIH may be found here.
