State Authorization for Distance Education

Mayland Community College is working in good-faith to achieve compliance as established in HEOA 600.9 (c):

Mayland Community College has reason to believe that it is currently authorized, licensed, registered, exempt or not subject to approval in Arizona,California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho,Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana,Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, SouthDakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia.

Due to recent changes in higher education regulations, Mayland Community College is not currently authorized to offer onlinecurriculum programs or courses for students residing in Alabama, Alaska,Arkansas, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Wisconsin, or Wyoming.  Prospective students are warned the institution is notcurrently authorized in those states and they should choose not to pursue enrollment.

Student Complaints and Grievances Resolution

Pursuant to the United States Department of Education’s ProgramIntegrity Rule, each institution of higher education is required to provide all prospective and current students with the contactinformation of the state agency or agencies that handle complaints against postsecondary education institutions offering distance learningwithin that state.  Mayland Community College students should attempt to resolve all issues and complaints within the guidelines ofthe college's Student Grievance Policy.  Below is a list of contacts from each state so that a student may file a complaint with that state, however, we askthat you please try to resolve all complaints with the college prior to going to any outside agency:
